Thinking about joining PPS Mutual?

To become a member, the first step is checking you meet our eligibility criteria. From there, simply register your interest — we’ll connect you with an independent accredited adviser to guide you through the process.

Spouses, dependent children, and key business associates of PPS Mutual members who don’t meet our eligibility criteria may also be able to access cover as an associate. You’ll find more information about this further down the page.

 

Step 1: Check your eligibility


To join PPS Mutual as a member, you will need to:

1. Be a resident in New Zealand

  • As a New Zealand citizen, or
  • As an Australian citizen, or
  • Under a New Zealand Residence class visa.

2. You must also satisfy one of these membership pathways:

  1. Hold a current membership of at least one of the listed professional bodies (click here for full list), or,  
  2. Hold a four-year degree from a globally recognised university that is registered with the Times Higher Education Group (https://www.timeshighereducation.com/world-university-rankings/latest/world-ranking), or,
  3. Hold membership (or prior membership) of PPS Mutual in Australia, South Africa or Namibia.

3. And you must currently work in a professional capacity.

  • For example, in a role that utilises your professional qualifications or degree.

About associates

At PPS Mutual, we also protect those closest to our members – spouses, dependent children, and key business associates.

Please note that while associates may be insured by PPS Mutual, they are not eligible to receive the Profit Share Benefit, which is exclusively for members.
